How To Apply

A Volunteer Application Form can be found here. We are not currently accepting volunteer applications at this time. The next intake will be spring 2013.
Only completed applications, with all enclosures, will be reviewed. Application packages must include the following:
- Three letters of reference, including phone numbers. At least two must be ‘professional references’ (employer, supervisor, teacher, etc.), and one of these may be from a volunteer agency, organization or group to which you belong. The third letter may be from a long-time friend, minister, neighbour, etc, but not an immediate family member. Reference letters should be addressed to the Program Coordinators.
To assist with your application, references should highlight your ability to deal with stressful and/or crisis situations; interpersonal communication skills; decision-making abilities and skills; general personality and attributes that would be an asset for Victim Services work; willingness to take direction and supervision; ability to think on your feet; and the values you act on.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to arrange for an interview with the Program Coordinators and will be required to undergo a Victoria Police Department police record check. A valid class 5 B.C. driver’s licence is required, and driving records are included as part of the police record check.
